In an emergency, knowledge doesn't work. Protocol works. Five ICU micro-protocols that shift your body from Flight (Sympathetic) to Rest & Repair (Parasympathetic). No mats, no hour of yoga - 90 seconds to 2 minutes.

Physiological Sigh
90 SEC · STRESS SPIKE
Sit comfortably, keep spine erect, drop your shoulders away from your ears. Two short inhales from the nose, then one long exhale from the mouth. Fastest way to offload CO2 and tell the brainstem: safe. Use before a meeting, after an argument.

Vagus Hum
2 MIN · VAGUS NERVE ON
Sit comfortably on chair or in sukhasana, keep spine erect, drop your shoulders away from your ears. Inhale deep, exhale on a long "hmmmm" - feel the vibration in your chest and throat. Stimulates the vagus nerve directly. Five to six rounds. Best for overthinking at night.

4-7-8 Breath
2 MIN · SLEEP RESET
Lie down or sit in a relaxed position before bedtime. Keep your shoulders loose and your jaw relaxed. Inhale 4 seconds, hold 7, exhale 8. The long exhale drives parasympathetic dominance. Do this before sleep, not during work. Repeat gently. Complete 4 cycles initially. If comfortable, gradually increase the number of cycles as you become accustomed to the technique.

Legs Up + Long Exhale
2 MIN · SYSTEM SHUTDOWN
Lie down, legs up on the wall. Inhale 4 seconds, exhale 8. The body gets the signal: no threat, can repair. Best for the 3pm crash or last thing at night. Let your body settle. After finishing, return to normal breathing and allow yourself to relax into sleep.
